It was good to catch up with Rosemary Nimmo and Margaret Harvey last week to congratulate them on their combined 84 years of service for the 90th Glasgow Girls Brigade in Summerston. I was also pleased to acknowledge their service in a parliamentary motion.

That the Parliament congratulates Rosemary Nimmo and Margaret Harvey for their outstanding service over many years as captain and vice-captain of the 90th Glasgow Girls’ Brigade; notes that the 90th Glasgow Girls’ Brigade has provided a range of enjoyable and rewarding activities for generations of girls from the Summerston area and beyond, and that Rosemary and Margaret have dedicated a combined total of 84 years of service to the Girls’ Brigade, serving as captain and vice-captain for 47 and 37 years respectively; commends both women for their remarkable contributions over decades; thanks them for providing young women with many opportunities to develop a range of important life skills over the years, while always seeking to keep activities accessible, fun and affordable to all participants; offers its best wishes to Rosemary and Margaret for the future, and believes that their legacy will ensure that the 90th Glasgow Girls’ Brigade goes from strength to strength for many years to come.
